The dynamic 3-part ReThink Missions Toolkit is designed for use in church small groups, mission sending agencies and universities. The content greatly assists in helping to form the proper framework for how to best think about and help those living in Poverty around the world.

The ReThink Missoins Toolkit consists of the PovertyCure 6-part Documentary Series, the ReThink Missions Navigation Guide, and ReThink Missoins: Real Stories. Real Impact:

The PovertyCure 6-part Documentary Serieschallenges us to think deeply about how we engage those living in material poverty around the world. Pulling from 200 interviews in 20 countries, host Michael Miller takes us on a journey around the world where we hear from individuals living and working in developing countries. Through listening to their voices, we hear what has worked, what hasn't, and what is needed moving forward.

In order to receive the most impact in your small group, it is recommended that you use the ReThink Missions Navigation Guide as you make your way through the series. The Navigation Guide will help to guide your small group discussion – forcing your team to take a deep introspective look at the way they have historically conducted their charity efforts.

Before your team embarks on your mission trip we highly suggest reading the stand alone book ReThink Missions: Real Stories, Real Impact. This book will introduce you to a collaborative ecosystem of organizations and individuals that are making a significant impact in the developing world, while also providing you with a fundamental understanding of the issues at play throughout the series.

At the conclusion of the PovertyCure Documentary Series, we invite you to continue the conversation at www.povertycure.org. We would love to connect you to one of our partners operating in over 144+ countries around the world!

Our actions aren't automatically good if we just have good intentions.Review by Victoria
The documentary series is broken down into digestable chunks for every group seeking to examine and explore how we can impact the world in a positive way. The discussion questions provided in the toolkit further allow you to discuss and learn from each other how best to truly partner with the people you seek to help and encourage without denying their dignity and creative capacity. As a personal example, one of the mission teams my organization took to Haiti was greatly impacted by just the first episode of the documentary. We only had time for the first one because we spent the rest of the evening discussing how we could apply these principles to the community we were working with. No matter which part of the world you seek to serve, whether it's people who need help here at home or in the mountains of a remote village in east Asia, you will be challenged and strengthened by this curriculum. Culture-Changing Resource Review by Leroy
Having interacted with several resources critiquing Christianity's current approach to Missions and philanthropy, I was anticipating the Rethink Missions Toolkit to be more of the same. I was pleasantly surprised by the toolkit, however. It was't so much the amount of new information provided, but by the way it engages the user. All three parts of the toolkit work in harmony to challenge the user to think differently about missions while encouraging him explore his own unique gifts and talents that can be of service to those with whom he seeks to partner.

I first watched the videos using the navigation guide. Then I read Real Stories, Real Impact. The video series is absolutely gorgeous. The quality of the footage, the majesty of the landscapes and the beauty of the people all moved me as much as the content did. This was a first class production. The navigation guide is equally beautiful and the flow of content was easy and smooth. While one can watch the videos without the navigation guide, doing so really does diminish the experience and effectiveness of this product. The video-guide combination really got me to probe my heart and mind regarding the poor and my approaches to interacting with them. This is important for me because I was able to skip this step in other resources as I didn't have to engage the question and answer sections. The questions in this series were also more personal and observational. I wasn't merely learning the content of the videos. This makes the navigation guide an excellent companion out in the field. One can always refer back to it, re-evalutaing your thoughts and actions in real time.

Real Stories, Real Impact is similar to other resources available like When Helping Hurts and Toxic Charity, but it was directly connected to the principles and people in the video series. If one hasn't read these other books, Real Stories, Real Impact does a good job of distilling them down to their essences. It was also nice to read the brief bios of many of the people featured in the video series. I must confess, I fell in love with Eva Muraya. Her determination, intellect and passion all inspired me so much.

In short, this resource is phenomenal. If the missions departments of only two or three churches adopted the philosophy and approach found in the Rethink Missions Toolkit, entire cultures could be changed. I highly recommend it. (Posted on 10/9/2015)
Necessary for MissionsReview by Jaime
There are very few resources that are necessary for Christ followers in the conversation on how to participate in Missions in a more Biblically correct way. One of these resources is the ReThink Toolkit by Poverty Cure.

Christ gave us a commission to make disciples, not to do everything for everyone forever. If we are going to truly partner with other members of the body of Christ around the world, we must rethink the way we do it. While there is not a cookie-cutter way to participate in missions, this toolkit helps us to process through how to avoid significant errors and methods that create dependency rather than interdependent relationships.

Other resources include, The Great Omission, Toxic Charity, and When Helping Hurts.

The ReThink Missions Toolkit will help you on the journey to doing God's will God's way. (Posted on 9/30/2015)
